LEAD CARPENTER/FOREMAN - POSTED 11/05/2022

Pay Dependent on Experience ($50-60 and hr.) with potential for benefits and bonuses if applicant works out to be a long term fit. 

If applicant has license and references, hourly pay and other forms of compensation can be negotiated.

Looking for a Lead Carpenter/Crew Foreman to start in the spring of 2023.  This person would provide the daily onsite supervision AND skilled carpentry for residential builds in the Inyo/Mono area.

Ideal Applicant to have 10 years experience in structural framing and has ideally functioned as a crew lead in some capacity during that time.

Applicant MUST be able to provide contacts (2-3) for references.

Self performed work will include framing, siding, windows, doors, and builder grade finishes. 

Work load for 2023 will be 2-3 custom homes of approximately 2000-3000sf.

We will TYPICALLY work on a build cycle of starting a few projects in the spring, which will then shoot to be dried in by fall, with a lighter work load of finish carpentry in the winter.  This can be built upon if so desired by crew and foreman.

Applicant must be able to

  • READ AND CLEARLY UNDERSTAND construction plans and details.

  • LAYOUT new build construction projects from sill plates to shear panels.

  • UNDERSTAND BUILDING SYSTEMS well enough to foresee when things may interfere with future trades and manage accordingly.

  • MANAGE a crew of 2-3 people (some level of skilled carpenters) on a day to day basis.

  • MANAGE a clean and orderly job site.

  • MAKE EXPERIENCE-BASED DECISIONS on jobs without detailed instructions.

  • INFORM ON SCHEDULE for daily, weekly, and monthly work flow.

  • INFORM ON MATERIAL needs prior to their need on site.

  • CLEARLY AND CALMLY COMMUNICATE expectations and needs to the crew and myself.

  • OWN NECCESARY TOOLS to complete any job related to structural carpentry or siding.

  • OWN RELIABLE TRASPORTATION which can also be used to make small runs to the lumber yard for basic materials (studs, plywood, etc) when neccesary.

CARPENTERS - POSTED 11/05/2022

Pay Dependent on Experience ($30-40 and hr.) with potential for benefits if applicant works out to be a long term fit. 

Looking for Residential Carpenters to start in the spring of 2023.

Pay highly dependent on skill set and tools.  I will be looking for 2-3 carpenters varying in skill level from cut person to lead journeyman level.

Applicants must be able to provide at least one reference and have experience (minimum one season, ideally multiple years).

Self performed work will include framing, siding, windows, doors, and builder grade finishes. 

Work load for 2023 will be 2-3 custom homes of approximately 2000-3000sf.

We will TYPICALLY work on a build cycle of starting a few projects in the spring, which will then shoot to be dried in by fall, with a lighter work load of finish carpentry in the winter.  This can be built upon if so desired by crew and foreman.

Applicants must be able to

  • WORK FULL TIME for the season. There will undoubtedly be down periods here and there due to work flow, but expectations are 40 hrs a week during the peak building period (May/ June until November/Dec.)

  • OWN AND USE all framing and standard carpentry hand and power tools.

  • CUT AND INSTALL wood framing members as laid out by, and under the direction of, an onsite foreman/Lead.

  • UNDERSTAND BUILDING SYSTEMS well enough to foresee when things may interfere with future trades and manage accordingly.

  • MAINTAIN a clean and orderly job site.

  • MAKE EXPERIENCE-BASED DECISIONS on standard framing details and issues as they arise.

  • CLEARLY AND CALMLY COMMUNICATE questions or issues with Lead/Foreman, other crew members, and myself.

  • OWN RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION.
